Our commitment. Buying land and pulling a building permit should not require perfect eyesight, a steady hand, or a mouse. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are not fully there yet, and rather than claim otherwise, here is exactly where we stand.
Where we conform today
- Done Body text and background colors meet AA contrast ratios.
- Done Buttons and links show a visible focus outline when tabbed to.
- Done Pages use real heading structure, and form fields use real labels.
- Done Nothing on the site flashes, autoplays, or moves without your input.
- Done Every document we generate is a text PDF with selectable, screen-reader-readable text — not a scanned image.
- Done The parcel map can be bypassed entirely: address and parcel-number (APN) search reach the same result.
Where we fall short
We would rather name these than hide them. Each is scheduled.
- Gap Portal dialogs. The upload, scheduling, and permit packet dialogs do not yet trap keyboard focus, do not announce themselves to screen readers, and cannot always be dismissed with the Escape key.
- Gap The parcel map. The map canvas itself is not keyboard navigable. Use the address or APN search instead — it reaches the same parcel.
- Gap Zoom and reflow. The marketing pages reflow cleanly, but the portal dashboard has not been fully verified at 200% zoom or at a 320px viewport width.
- Gap Alt text. Decorative icons in the portal are inline SVGs without accessible names; screen readers may announce them as unlabeled graphics.
- Gap Status updates. When a report finishes analyzing or a summary finishes generating, the change is shown visually but is not announced to screen readers.
- Gap County guides. The guide content loads into the page after you choose a county, without announcing that new content has appeared.

If an accessibility barrier prevents you from completing your feasibility project, tell us and we will walk you through it directly, at no charge, until the barrier is fixed. That offer is not a workaround for fixing the software, and it does not replace fixing it — it is what we owe you in the meantime.
Assistive technology we test with
VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and keyboard-only navigation in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. We do not yet test with JAWS or NVDA.
